Santa's Whiskers

1 c butter or margarine, softened
1 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 c flour
3/4 c finely chopped candied cherries, red and green
1/2 c chopped pecans
1 c flaked coconut
Mix first 6 ingredients together well. Shape into 2 rolls 2" in diameter. Roll in coconut. Cover and chill overnight.
Next day slice 1/4" thick. Arrange on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375º oven for about 10-12 minutes or until edges are slightly browned.
Makes 4-5 dozen.
