Merry Cherry Cake

1 c margarine
1/2 c sugar
2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
5 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c maraschino cherries
1/2 c chopped nuts
1/4 c icing sugar

Preheat oven to 350º.
Cream butter and sugar. Add flour and baking powder; add beaten eggs and vanilla. Fold in cherries and nuts. Pour into greased and floured tube pan and bake for 1 hour. Cool 15 minutes. Turn out onto plate and sprinkle with icing sugar. Serves 12.
